Calculate the action window
Your timeline will appear here
Enter the renewal date and the notice period written in the contract. Add review lead time so your team can decide before the notice window closes.
Separate the dates
A renewal date marks the contract milestone. A notice deadline is the earlier action date that protects your options.
Verify the clause
Check calendar versus business days, amendments, notice recipient, delivery method, timezone, and holiday rules.
Assign an owner
Give one person responsibility for the review, decision, notice evidence, and next-cycle update.
Example: a 90-day notice period
Assume a service agreement renews on March 31, 2027 and requires notice at least 90 calendar days before renewal. The calculated notice deadline is December 31, 2026. If the team wants 30 days to review vendor performance, alternatives, budget, and approvals, the recommended review date is December 1, 2026.
The notice deadline is not automatically the day to begin work. It is the last planned action date under the inputs you supplied. Starting review earlier keeps renewal, renegotiation, and cancellation options open while there is still time to collect evidence and obtain approval.
If the agreement says 90 business days, notice must be received rather than sent, excludes holidays, or names a specific timezone or delivery address, this calendar-day result is not sufficient. Use the contract language and qualified advice where needed.

Contract notice deadline calculator FAQ
Enter the contract renewal date and subtract the notice period stated in the agreement. For example, a 90-calendar-day notice period before March 31, 2027 produces a notice deadline of December 31, 2026.
It uses calendar days. If the contract specifies business days, holidays, a particular timezone, or a delivery method, calculate and verify those terms separately.
The review date is an earlier planning date calculated by subtracting your chosen lead time from the notice deadline. It gives the owner time to review performance, negotiate, approve, or prepare cancellation notice.
Yes. Download the ICS file after calculating. It contains all-day events for the review date and notice deadline and can be imported into common calendar applications.
No. The result is a planning calculation. Verify the signed contract, amendments, calendar-day or business-day language, timezone, notice recipient, and required delivery method before acting.
